Hub of Learning (HoL)

As per the circular released by CBSE, the schools in the same vicinity would form a collaborative partnership called a Hub of Learning or HoL. The board would be assigning the schools under HoLs and it would be mandatory for all the schools. The board would assign a unique number to such a group formed based on state, district and city code.

Each HoL would constitute of 4 to 6 schools in the neighbourhood. For schools located outside India, they would be matched to HoLs in New Delhi. Schools placed under one HoL would share and exchange resources for a holistic development of not just the school but the HoL as a whole.

What resources would the schools in HoL share?
Schools would be sharing both intellectual, experiential and physical resources. Schools would share manpower (teachers), infrastructure (sports grounds, labarotary’s, etc.) as well as experience and learning’s. This would include a series of activities which the schools in one HoL would take up regularly.

The activities would include interchange of academic material, co-planning the curriculum, organizing quizzes and exhibitions, etc. The schools would also be required to share the information and expertise regarding annual pedagogical plans/curriculum plans and transaction strategies, learning outcomes, innovative pedagogy, etc. with each other, which in turn would lead to adoption of the best practices.

Furthermore, the schools would organize joint teacher developmental programs for the HoL. Schools would also cooperate with each other to ascertain and assign resources in the area of educational and school related needs of Children with Special Needs. HoL’s would also be collaborating with the industry for skill development courses for the teachers.
